My family is great(!) and we do a lot of crazy stuff together. We've lived in Newport
for the past 12 years or so, enjoying the beach/rain combo. The plus about living in
a depressing climate is that you really enjoy the four days of sun in summer (or February?!).

Mom gets to be first because she pretty much holds the family together (and is the oldest).
She makes sure we all get to our appointments on time, she somehow knows where we've
left everything we can't seem to find, and if our family ever does anything together, it
because mom planned it. When she's not taking care of us, she works at our church
as Children's Director putting on a musical or organizing or teaching or anything like that.

Although mom is the reason we ever do anything as a family, dad is usually the one
who makes the occasion entertaining. The guy is really a kid at heart....well, maybe not
at heart, but in his head. It's because of dad that we jump off bridges, have food
fights, or just do stupid stuff. Despite this childish front, he can instantly transform
into Super Pastor Guy which he plays on Sundays or any other time old people are around.
He does this probably because he is an associate pastor at our church, and that's
how we get money.

Nate
Well, this is me. I guess I'm the first born. I was "experimented" on as a child. For
example, my parents made me ride my bike to school starting in kindergarten! They said,
"It wasn't much more than a mile." I still remember walking my bike that seemingly endless
"mile" when the roads were covered in ice. I attribute all of my personal defects
to my parent's child rearing skills.

Nikki
Nikki is going to Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, ID and majoring in education
or administration or graphic design....she doesn't really know. I think her main goal
is to get married and mooch off some guy so she doesn't have to work. We went to Europe
together during the summer of 2003 and had a great time eating ice cream and looking at
scaffolding.

Laura
Laura also goes to Northwest Nazarene University (so did my parents...kind of a family
tradition burped over me). I think Laura has a little better grasp on her future and
declared a major in nursing during her first year. The family is somewhat convinced that
Laura was adopted because she 1) has blonde hair and 2) can't burp as loud as the rest
of us....but she is learning.

Jake
Jake is the only one left at home, suffering under the dominion of mom and dad. But since
he is kind of a mama's boy, I don't think he minds. He's into soccer (I'm better) and
computer and Nintendo games (he's better). We spent most of the summer together playing our
classic 8-bit system and visiting second hand stores. I'm trying to convince him to
flee from the Dark Side (NNU) and attend a school with a good computer science program (GFU),
but I have to do this all in secret since our family is infiltrated with Dark minions.
