Efficient GPS
Project Overview
-
GPS services are becoming commonly available on mobile phones.
However, accessing GPS services is "expensive" in terms of the power
required and applications that make constant use of GPS services
have a substantial impact on battery life.
We are experimenting with adaptive algorithms and mechanisms for
accessing GPS services that will provide substantively equivalent
resolution while dramatically decreasing the impact on battery life.
